The project
open up new perspectives.
Technical support is intended to enable the clients of Lebenshilfe Tirol to live a life that is tailored to their needs and is as autonomous as possible. Based on augmented reality, the smart glasses should already be used in mid-2023.

Augmented Reality is already being used in a variety of ways. Operational processes are increasingly being made more efficient using smart glasses. Now this innovation will conquer the social sector:

By means of individually adapted functions, the glasses will assist the client. The everyday life of those people is thus made much easier despite their cognitive or physical impairment. The technology should help people to independently overcome various challenges of everyday life. The promotion of independence also relieves relatives as well as carers: inside and nursing staff.

Independence and a needs-based life are promoted and open the door to a more inclusive society.

Our mission
The project is currently in the early stages and will be completed in 2023. Due to the fact that participation in this major and time-consuming change is only possible until June 2022, our involvement is limited to the initial phase.
In addition to preliminary work in literature research and data processing, the current situation of the Lebenshilfe will be analysed and a detailed needs assessment are carried out. Furthermore, potential fields of action and scenarios of the technology are worked out using qualitative research methods. This serves to facilitate the implementation of the technology in the everyday life of the clients.

In this cooperation, the research unit " Digital Transformation " is in the foreground. Ms. Magdalena Posch is in charge of the overall project. Andrea Planatscher is responsible for the internal project management. Together as a team, Mayerhofer Annika, Huber Nicole, Langegger Magdalena and Planatscher Andrea can actively participate in Smart Inccusion and thus be part of this technical-social revolution, which will extend far beyond the limits of the project.

An innovation that is revolutionizing the social sector and making the unthinkable possible.

The product
There are more and more manufacturers of smart glasses on the market. As part of the project, hardware will be sourced from the international technology company Microsoft. Microsoft has been working on mixed reality glasses for years. In 2019, the Hololens2 was launched as the subsequent edition of the first generation of the product.

The software is adapted according to the needs of the clients of the Lebenshilfe.
